SCAD Maps.Log inRequest a demo

Quick start

Sign in, install the app on your phone, find your way around the map and place your first note and task in a few minutes.

This page takes you from a sign-in link to your first note and task. It assumes your administrator has already created your account or given you an access link or QR code.

1. Sign in#

  1. Open the address of your event in a modern browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox).
  2. Enter your Email or username and Password, then choose Log in. Tick Remember me on a personal device.
  3. If your organisation uses single sign-on, you may be signed in automatically, or sent to your organisation's login page first. See Single sign-on.

If you forgot your password and your instance sends email, use Forgot password? under the password field. Otherwise ask an administrator to reset it.

  • A request-access link opens a form. Fill it in and wait for approval; you cannot sign in until an administrator approves the request, and you are notified when they do. Some invitation links approve you immediately.
  • A guest QR code asks for a PIN and then opens a view-only map. Guests do not get tasks or chat.

Details for administrators are in Invitations, QR codes and access requests.

2. Install the app (optional)#

On a phone or tablet, use your browser's Add to Home Screen (Safari) or Install app (Chrome and Edge) option. The installed app opens without browser bars and can hold downloaded venue maps. See Mobile, install and offline maps.

3. Find your way around#

  • Drag to pan, pinch or scroll to zoom. Rotation is locked by default so the map does not turn by accident; unlock it under Views in the top bar, in the Orientation section.
  • Open Layers in the top bar to switch venue plans on and off.
  • Press Ctrl + K to search notes, tasks and areas or to jump to any screen.
  • Use the compass and my location buttons on the right edge of the map.

The full tour is in The workspace at a glance.

4. Place your first note#

  1. Press N (or open Create and choose Note).
  2. Click the map at the right spot.
  3. Type what someone at that spot should know and choose Save note.

The pin appears immediately for everyone who is allowed to see it. Photos, documents and checklists are covered in Notes.

5. Create your first task#

  1. Press T to start a task.
  2. Give it a title, choose a priority, and assign it to a person or group if it has an owner.
  3. Save it. It appears on the map and in that person's My work list.

Everything you are responsible for is under My work in the navigation, or press W. More in Tasks and checklists.

6. Turn on location and notifications#

Open Notifications & location from your account menu to allow push notifications and to share your live position with the team. Both are optional and only start when you switch them on; see People, presence and live location.

If something goes wrong#

Common problems, such as a blocked location prompt or a missing pin, are answered in Troubleshooting and FAQ.
